The effects of the Bessarabian famine are spreading to South Bukowina. Alarming reports of the terrible need and hunger are arriving here from the towns Wisznitz, Washkowitz and Kilman where there is a large Jewish population.

Immediate action to cope with the situation was taken by the Joint Distribution Committee. A local relief committee has been formed.
