The European Union is taking a leading role in international efforts to bring peace to the Middle East, according to its foreign policy chief. “The European Union has worked actively in recent months to an increasing degree in the search for a just and lasting solution,” Javier Solana wrote in an article that appeared in Germany’s Bild am Sonntag.
