The first of August passed as a whole quietly in Palestine, notwithstanding the fact that the Communists distributed proclamations in Arabic, Hebrew and Yiddish, calling for observance of the Communist day.

A clash with the police occurred in Tel Aviv on the evening of August 1, when a hundred demonstrants started to march in the street. Five of the demonstrants were arrested.
