The gazelle population of the Judaean desert has risen by 30 percent over the last year, according to the Nature Reserves Authority’s annual count. A record 831 gazelles were counted throughout the desert as opposed to last year’s figure of 630, which was the first time the count had dropped, rather than risen, since counting began back in 1980.
