The genetics department at Israel’s Hebrew University retracted the results of a test which showed that a Yemenite woman and daughter were biologically related. The results had been used by Yemenite activists as evidence that Israel had kidnapped Yemenite babies and turned them over to Ashkenazi families in the early years of the Jewish state. Several further tests have contradicted the original results.
