The Haham, Dr. Solomon Gaon, chief rabbi of the Sephardic Congregations of the British Commonwealth, has been appointed to the Maxwell R. Maybaum Memorial Chair in Talmud and Sephardic Codes at Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, to become the institution’s first Sephardic Rosh Yeshiva, it was announced by Dr. Norman Lamm, president, Yeshiva University, with which the seminary is affiliated.
