The Hebrew University’s 1974 Rabbi Shai Shaknai Memorial Prize in immunology and cancer research has been awarded to Prof, Baruj Benacerraf of Harvard Medical School. Prof. Benacerraf delivered the Shaknai Memorial Lectures at the Hebrew University Hadassah School of Medicine last week, The guest lectureship and prize were established in 1971 by Frank R. Lautenberg of New Jersey who is now United Jewish Appeal general chairman, to commemorate the Jerusalem born rabbi of Wayne, New Jersey who died several years ago at the age of 38.
