The inclusion of a controversial Palestinian film in a Jewish film festival prompted an outcry by some in San Francisco’s Jewish community. The film, “Al- Nakba: The Palestinian Catastrophe of 1948,” is making its North American premiere at the 18th annual San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, which opens Thursday. Festival organizers defended the decision to include the film, saying it would provoke discussion about the Palestinian perspective on the creation of the Jewish state.
