The Information and Public Affairs Committee of the American Zionist Federation cited “the recent reaction” to the Israeli election and “the subtle but significant shift in the American diplomatic posture” in declaring that the AZF respected and supported “the democratically arrived-at election results of the Israeli people.” The statement also called on all American Jews to reaffirm their support of Israel.
