An Israeli soldier was killed when a Palestinian gunman opened fire at a West Bank checkpoint. Ro’i Farjoun, 21, of Yehud, was killed in Saturday’s attack at the checkpoint southeast of Nablus after the gunman, who was standing in line at the checkpoint for a security check, opened fire. Farjoun’s fellow soldiers shot and killed the gunman.
