The Israeli government is backing a bill that would allow allocation of some state-owned land exclusively for Jewish communities. The bill was proposed by National Religious Party legislator Haim Druckman to circumvent a decision by the High Court of Justice that the state cannot allocate land in a way that directly or indirectly discriminates against any Israeli citizens.
