The Jew of Roumania will have to stand the effects not only of one anti-Semitic Congress but of two, due to a split in the Christian League, the organization responsible for fostering racial hatred in the country.
Professor Alexander Cuza has called an anti-Semitic Congress for May 8 to be held in Jassy. A group within the League which is in opposition to Cuza, claiming that the call to the congress was unauthorized, decided to call another congress to be held on the same day in Bucharest.
The rift within the League was caused by a number of expulsions from the League, the opposition claiming that these expulsions were illegal and that the central organ of the league represents only the views of Professor Cuza.
