The Jewish Council for Public Affairs opened its annual conference as more than 1,000 activists met in Washington to focus on support for Israel and discuss domestic issues facing the American Jewish community. Stuart Eizenstat, who served as President Clinton’s point man on Holocaust issues, will be honored by the umbrella organization of 123 local groups and 13 national organizations for his commitment to social justice efforts.
