The Jewish delegation which came to participate in the Roumanian union celebrations at Buzeau was insulted in such a manner that it was compelled to leave the celebration, states a report from Bucharest to the “Pester Lloyd.”
The delegation, which included a number of rabbis, was shown to its place on the platform, in accordance with arrangements of the Commandant of the local garrison. When the Jewish representatives ascended the platform, the Roumanian Bishop Ghenadie rose from his place, shouting. “We don’t want any mixing with you. Get down.” Whereupon the Jewish delegation left the celebration.
A protest to the local authorities was lodged.
