The Fifteenth Anniversary Dinner of “The Jewish Forum”, a literary monthly founded by the late Dr. Solomon T. H. Hurwitz and edited for more than a decade by Isaac Rosengarten, was held Sunday evening, March 26th, at the Hotel Astor. More than 300 persons heard former Governor William Sulzer, United States Attorn George Z. Medalie, former Representive William W. Cohen and others p. tribute to the ideals of the publication and the devotion of its staff.
Mark Eisner, Chairman of the Board of Higher Education of New York City, was toastmaster. Rabbis Leo Jung and William Margolis also spoke of the universal appeal of “The Jewish Forum” to all classes of Jews.
Letters of greeting were also read from Governors Lehman of New York and Meiers of Oregon.
Among those on the dais were Dr. Nima H. Adlerblum, Professor A. Broderick Cohen, Maurice P. Davidson, Harold Debrest, Gabriel Heatter, Rev. Dr. Moses Hyamson, Jacob Landau, Jacob Margareten, Alexander A. May-per, Rev. Dr. Louis I. Newman, Hon. Hyman J. Reit, Mrs. Sol Rosenbloom, Commander Sidney S. Schiff and William Weiss.
The 15th Anniversary issue of the “Forum” was distributed at the dinner. It contains articles by Dr. Moses Gaster, Elkan N. Adler, H. A. Goodman, Dr. Julius H. Greenstone, Prof. James A. Montgomery and others.
