The Knesset vote for Chaim Herzog as Israel’s next President reflected the popular will, according to an opinion poll published Tuesday in the Jerusalem Post. Interviewing more than 1,000 respondents, Dr. Naomi Shemer of Modi ‘in Ezrachi found 56 percent supporting Herzog with only 17.3 percent favoring the coalition candidate, Supreme Court Justice Menachem Elon.
