The Kresge Department Store of Newark has adhered to a policy of not buying German goods since the advent of the Hitler regime, the firm revealed in a letter made public by the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League.
“The small quantity of merchandise we have on hand today was purchased prior to the difficulties that have arisen in Germany,” A. Schindel, vice-president of the firm, wrote the league. “The total amount of such merchandise in our stock is probably less than one-twentieth of one percent of our total stock of merchandise.
