The land border between Israel and Egypt was officially opened to private vehicles Tuesday but as of noon not a single car made the crossing in Sinai. Private cars will be permitted into Egypt provided that the driver has a valid license and an Egyptian insurance certificate and that the driver and all passengers have valid Egyptian visas. The same rules apply in the opposite direction.
