The leader of Russia’s largest ultranationalist group said he expected the government to overrule a decision by the mayor of Moscow to ban a neo-Nazi gathering scheduled to take place there in the coming days. Alexander Barkashov, the leader of Russian National Unity, said if the government did not issue a go-ahead for the meeting, he would hold a meeting next spring of “hundreds of thousands of young men” who are “ready to defend their civil rights and freedoms at any price.”
