The Lithuanian Catholic Church announced that it is going to assess its role in the Holocaust. The secretary-general of the church’s Conference of Bishops said a conference would be convened in October to assess the church’s wartime past and to seek closer ties between the Baltic nation’s Catholics and Jews.
