The London monthly “Free Palestine which is sponsored by the Palestine Liberation Organization and run by El Fatah, announced that the national chairman of the Young Liberals, Peter Hain, will contribute an article to its next issue on the subject, “Why I Support Palestinians.” The Liberal Party of Great Britain, which is the senior body of the Liberal movement, is pro-Israel, and the Liberal leader, Jeremy Thorpe, is an avowed Zionist. The young Liberals are in conflict with the senior branch of the movement over Middle East policy.
