The London “Times”, discussing the situation in Germany and the report that election eve is to be converted into a St. Bartholomew night, declares: “The threat of a general massacre. . . . can not be treated so lightly, now that the Prussian police have been re-enforced by Nazi bands”.

The London “Herald” today reports what it terms a German Hitlerite plot “to carry out during the coming week end the most staggering massacre the world has known.

“All progressive leaders and Jews” the paper says, have already been listed as intended victims.
