The massive protests in Iran may indirectly help the 13 Jews arrested earlier this year as “Zionist spies,” speculates the secretary-general of the Iranian American Jewish Federation in Los Angeles. “In a way, it’s better that this case is out of the news,” said Sam Kermanian, who has been closely following the fate of the prisoners. The lowered media profile may give advocates for the 13 some added flexibility when talking to Iranian officials, he believes.
