The National Council of Jewish Women plans to work to prevent Sen. John Ashcroft’s confirmation as U.S. Attorney General. The group, which claims Ashcroft is a “champion for right-wing causes,” disagrees with him over abortion rights, affirmative action, gun control and church-state separation issues.
