The newly appointed British Foreign Office minister met with Israel’s ambassador to Britain in an effort to dispel his anti-Israel image. The meeting with Ambassador Dror Zeigerman, which took place one day after Peter Hain received the appointment, was seen as an act of reconciliation by Hain, who has been conspicuously close to the Palestinian cause and hostile to Israel throughout his political career.
