The number of Israeli settlers is growing at its lowest rate in a decade. According to Israeli government figures, the settler population in the West Bank and Gaza Strip rose to 204,900 during the first nine months of the year, an increase of 4.4 percent compared to the same period the previous year. The arrival of new settlers, as well as births among settlers, means the settler population still rose despite Israeli-Palestinian violence.
