The number of Jews in the Dail, the parliament of the Irish Republic, rose to three as a result of last Thursday’s general elections. Two incumbents, Dr. Mervyn Taylor of the Labor Party and Ben Briscoe of the Fianna Fail were returned to office in their districts, Dublin Southwest and Dublin South Central respectively. The newcomer is Alan Shatter of the Fianna Gael party, who was elected for Dublin South.
