The number of North Americans who have made aliya between January and the end of October stands at 3,177, nearly 1,000 more than during the same period last year and some 650 more than in all of 1982, according to Moshe Shechter, director of the Israel Aliya Center. Statistics released by the Center show 247 Americans and Canadians emigrating to Israel during October.
