The Palestinian Authority agreed in 2002 to host Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in exchange for weapons. Ha’aretz on Wednesday quoted Israeli Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz as saying that then-P.A. President Yasser Arafat made the deal with senior Iranian officials under which Iranian troops would be stationed in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in exchange for 50 tons of weapons, which were intercepted by Israel as they came in on the Karine A ship.
