The Palestinians understand they cannot achieve their goals through violence, the outgoing head of the Israel Defense Force said. At a farewell ceremony Tuesday with members of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Lt. Gen. Shaul Mofaz said there is also greater understanding in the international community that the Palestinian leadership must be replaced. Mofaz will be succeeded by the IDF deputy chief of staff, Moshe Ya’alon.
