The “Pester Lloyd” publishes a report of another interview given by Count Klebelsberg, Hungarian Minister of Education, to Jacob Landau, managing director of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, on the question of the numerus clausus.
“The abolition of the numerus clausus does not lie within my authority, but ### the task of the cabinet as a whole,” the Minister stated. When asked by Mr. Landau concerning the attitude of the League of Nations toward the matter, the Count replied that any foreign intervention in this matter would be harmful. “I do not know how Hungarian public opinion would react, if foreign pressure would compel Hungary to abolish the numerus clausus. I do not believe that the Hungarian representative would make any statements on the matter at Geneva at this time,” he said.
