The president of Russia’s Tartarstan region notified the Jewish community of Kazan that it will be able to continue repairs on the Jewish school there and reopen in time for the new school year, according to NCSJ: Advocates on Behalf of Jews in Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic States & Eurasia. President Sharipovich Shaimiev reversed a previous order to close the school, which was damaged by a suspicious fire in July.
