The president of the Assembly of Italian Rabbis said he is disturbed over divisions about “Who Is a Jew?” Giuseppe Laras made his comments at a quadrennial meeting of the Union of Italian Jewish Communities, an umbrella organization that represents Italy’s 35,000 Jews. The three-day congress which opened Sunday, is held every four years. At the congress, Tullia Zevi is expected to step down as head of the organization after 15 years as president.
