The recent conference of Latin American Jewish communities organized by the Latin American Jewish Congress and the World Zionist Organization adopted the Jerusalem Program which stresses the centrality of Israel in the life of diaspora Jewry. According to observers here, the adoption of this program is a significant step toward stabilizing the Jewish communities in Latin America by providing them with an ideological focal point and central outlook.
