The reorganization of the military protection brought to Palestine by the British authorities, following the outbreak of the Arab riots, has created uneasiness in certain localities.
The military authorities declared that the detachments will, from now on, be centralized at a few points, patrolling the country in mobile units instead of permanent patrols. Particular uneasiness was felt at Athlit where the Arab workers at the harbor excavation are in possession of explosive materials. The administration of the (Continued on Page 7)
American citizens who have sustained losses as a consequence of the disturbances may deem it desirable to obtain the services of local attorneys in connection with the preparation and presentation of their claims to the commissioner.
The Department of State will supply such American citizens with a list of attorneys in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Tel Aviv or Haifa whom the department believes to be reputable attorneys.
A call to all principals of Talmud Torahs and other Jewish schools in New York City has been issued by the Jewish Educational Association above the signatures of Israel Unterberg, President, and Bernard Semel, Honorary Secretary, calling upon the schools to hold fitting memorial exercises for Louis Marshall on the day of the funeral. Schools are urged to emphasize to the children “those phases of Mr. Marshall’s public career which reveal his proud Jewishness, and unflagging devotion to his people and his faith.”
