The Sdeh Boker Desert Research Institute’s director, Prof. Amos Richmond, and New Mexico State University’s president, Gerald Thomas, have announced the establishment of a broad-based cooperative program between the two institutions to encourage and facilitate arid land research. In immediate ventures the primary focus will be in the field of ecology and biology of arid zones. Subsequently, concentration will be on water resources, food production and agricultural management, energy production and use, and arid lands management.
