The Simon Wiesenthal Center opened a photo exhibition honoring Pope John Paul II for his friendship with the Jewish people. The exhibit opened Thursday, on the eve of the pope’s funeral, and continues through April 22 at the center’s Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. Included are photos of the pope’s visits to Auschwitz and a Rome synagogue, his historic trip to Israel in 2000, and two audiences the pope granted to Wiesenthal Center delegations.
