“The son of the Conservative ex-Premier of England, Baldwin, is a Labor candidate; the son of Dr. Theodor Herzl, an apostate,” stated Israel Zangwill when asked for his opinion of the conversion of Hans Herzl to Christianity. “Herzl’s son has recognized that Palestine does not offer now the solution for the Jewish question; he may launch a rival solution: conversion of the Jews, en masse,” Zangwill declared.
“The Zionism which now prevails in Palestine being merely racial, its proposed University purely scientific, it cannot exclude Christians more than it excludes free-thinkers,” Zangwill said in conclusion.
