Jack Curley, dean of wrestling show producers, will be present at the opening of the Coney Island Velodrome tonight. Abe Yager also announces that a special card has been created for tonight’s heave and grunt entertainment.
Abe Coleman, Jewish wrestling champ, who has lost only two matches since his arrival from the West last November, will meet jumping Joe Savoldi in the feature finish attraction. This clash tops an excellent supporting card. In a special engagement Sandor Szabo faces George Hagen of the U. S. Marine Corps.
RIDGEWOOD GROVE
Two up-and-coming challengers for Barney Ross’ welterweight crown will pair off tomorrow night at the Grove. The two fighters are planning to have their managers file their challenges before the boxing commission. They are Ray Napolitano and Irish Billy Hogan. Of course it will remain for the winner of Saturday???s bout to do the challenging, but with such an incentive the scrap should be a real tussle all the way.
