The State Department would not comment Tuesday on a report in the authoritative publication, Aviation Week, that Taiwan is considering buying two squadrons of Israeli-built Kfir fighter aircraft. A spokesman said no comment would be forthcoming unless Israel made on official request to sell them. The U.S. vetoed on Israeli contract with Ecuador on the transfer of Kfir planes last year.
