The state operated radio and television station, West Deutscher Rundfunk, has announced that the American-made TV film “Holocaust” will be televised again in November 1982 followed by a live discussion after the fourth and last parts of the series. The screening is expected to attact millions of viewers. The nationwide screening of “Holocaust” at the end of 1979 shattered the German’s silence and indifference about the Nazi persecution of Jews. But public opinion polls showed that the effect of the series completely wore off a few months later.
