The stereotype of the Jewish mother who likes to brag about her son the doctor does not appear to apply in Israel. A survey of 500 Israeli women found that 40 percent want their children to go into the high-tech industry. Fifteen percent still wish for a doctor, 11 percent for a lawyer and only 3 percent for a rabbi, the survey said.
