The Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry and the Union of Councils for Soviet Jews reported that Sender Levenson, a 30-year-old Prisoner of conscience who was serving a six-year term, has been released from a labor camp after half his sentence was completed. Levenson, from Bendery, near Kishinev, was charged with “speculation” after applying for a visa to emigrate to Israel.
