The study of the Holocaust will become compulsory in all high schools, Education Minister Zevulun Hammer has decided. The decision came at the and of lengthy deliberations with Yad Vashem, university researchers and public figures who deal with the subject. The Education Ministry noted that while Jewish communities in the U.S. have long introduced the study of the Holocaust in schools, Israel has failed to do so thus far.
