The Supreme Court of Leipzig imposed a four year prison sentence on Oberlieutenant Brandt on June 27, 1925, for his implication in the murder of Walter Rathenau. The court sentence stated that Brandt would not lose his civil rights. Herr Kuechenmeister, who was the owner of the automobile used by the murderers, was acquitted.
