The two leading contenders in New York’s gubernatorial race were among the politicians at the local Jewish community’s annual Sukkot celebration this week near the United Nations. Gov. George Pataki called for an end to Palestinian terror attacks and criticized the United Nations for failing “too often” to act “in a balanced way toward the people of Israel.” His opponent, State Comptroller Carl McCall, said the Palestinian Authority is “nothing more than a terrorist organization with fancy stationery.”
