The U.S. Air Force softened its rules on religious practices. After receiving criticism from evangelical Christians, the Air Force late last week stepped back from interim rules it announced last summer. The new rules allow superior officers to discuss faith with their subordinates, and say chaplains are not required to offer non-sectarian services. “Voluntary participation in worship, prayer, study and discussion is integral to the free exercise of religion,” the revised guidelines said.
