The U.S. ambassador to Israel said Washington is drawing up a timetable to implement the Mitchell Commission report and that he is optimistic the timetable will be accepted by Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Meanwhile, Israeli security officials told Israel’s Security Cabinet that it is unlikely the Palestinians will heed Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s call for a cease-fire.
