The United States is considering recognizing Israeli sovereignty in parts of the West Bank, a Bush administration official said The official said some sort of recognition of Israeli sovereignty over three West Bank settlement blocs could be part of a withdrawal plan in which Israel would pull out of most of the West Bank. The revelation came Thursday in a meeting between Dov Weisglass, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s top legal adviser, and U.S. officials.
