The Vatican chose Israel’s national carrier, El Al, as the official airline to carry pilgrims for festivities marking the second millennium since the birth of Jesus, according to a spokesman for the airline. The spokesman added that some 7 million tourists are expected to fly to Israel during the year 2,000.
